This itinerary features an urban stay in Helsinki with time in the lake and area and focuses on revitalising your body and soul and completely unwinding.
Arrive at Helsinki Vantaa airport and meet your transfers who will take you to your Helsinki hotel
Meet you transfer at your hotel who will take you to Helsinki Station. Take the VR Pendolino train from Helsinki to Mikkeli where you will pick up your hire car and make your way to Jarvisydan Resort and enjoy the rest of your day at your leisure.
You will get complimentary entry to the fantastic spa both days of your stay. The spa is a feat of Finnish handicraft, the walls are real rocks and the roof is from 500 year old wood from the bottom of the lake.
The lake water runs into some of the pools. You experience real Finnish Culture in five different saunas and can also relax with one of the calming beauty treatments (for an extra cost).
This is a day at your leisure however we can recommend that you take a morning boat trip out on lLke Saimaa into the Linnansaari National Park to see if you are lucky enough to see the Saimaa ringed seals (there are only 400 left on the lake).
You again will have a day access to the Jarvisydan resport Spa.
You could also take a 45 min trip to the town of Savonlinna and visit Olavinlinna Castle, one of the best preserved medieval castles in Scandinavia.
Depart Jarvisydan Resort and head over to your next lakeland accommodation staying in a fantastic art and design villas at Anttolanhovi Resort.
Anntolanhovi Resort is situated in a scenic environment on the shores of Lake Saimaa, you can even take you own rowing boat out to explore the lake.
These self catering villas do offer breakfast in the hotel restaurant should you not wish to prepare your own breakfast.
Have the rest of the day to rest and explore the area.
Today you can relax in your villa and the surrounds of the resort.
In the afternoon take a drive to the tea-house of Wehmais, a home from home, the tea-house is a traditional British tea room with a deli and shop. You can enjoy tea from over 100 different varieties.
The Ritz in London offers around 14000 afternoon teas per year and the tea-house of Wehmais offers over 12000.
You will be departing your Lakeland accommodation and heading back to Mikkeli to drop your car back and get the VR Pendolino train back to Helsinki where you will then be met by your driver and transferred to your Helsinki hotel.
In the evening we can include a visit to Lonna Island, a tiny island, just 150 m long, is part of the Suomenlinna district, located between Helsinki’s bustling market square and the Suomenlinna fortress island where ships were protected against naval mines in days gone by.
You can relax on the rocky shoreline, visit the museum and then have a 3 course dinner on Lonna’s popular restaurant and waffle bar, with its covered terrace.
Before your dinner you could also visit the public sauna and watch the summer sunset from the rocky shoreline.
After breakfast you will be transferred from your Helsinki hotel back to Helsinki Vantaa airport.
