This hand-picked itinerary allows you to visit three contrasting parts of Sardinia, for a wonderfully diverse holiday experience.
Su Gologone is the only mountain National Park in Sardinia, and it’s the perfect place to stay for a traditional Sardinian experience. You’ll have the chance to try your hand at pottery, breadmaking, and other crafts and cookery. The beautiful inland scenery of the eastern part of the island is simply unmissable.
Villa Mosca is a designer boutique hotel in a historic house with an amazing location by the sea in Alghero, Sardinia. Here at Long Travel, we love its incredible quality & sumptuous luxury, so close to Alghero yet so relaxing, with its own mini botanical garden.
Gabbiano Azzurro is a stylish, modern hotel with a wonderful family feel – the staff know their clients by name. Ideally located right on the sea, close to the small resort of Golfo Aranci, it boasts a beautiful private beach, as well as excellent service.
Where you will stay:
3 Nights at Su Gologone
3 Nights at Villa Mosca Villini
4 Nights at Gabbiano Azzurro
EAST SARDINIA - Inland, in the east of Sardinia, little villages like Oliena, which still retain the old Sardinian traditions and crafts, are surrounded by steep-sided hills, caverns, gorges and lakes, more reminiscent of Scotland (with sunshine!).
NORTH WEST SARDINIA - Now a popular holiday resort, Alghero is a charming old Catalan town often referred to as the Coral Riviera, nestled into the north west Sardinian coastline, with wonderful views over the bay to the dramatic cliffs at Capo Caccia. The old walled Alghero town, within the ancient ramparts and lookout towers, has a lively atmosphere with a good selection of shops, café bars and restaurants. It has an interesting history to discover manifested in its well preserved architecture. There is a 5km long white sandy beach stretching from the port and marina to Fertilia and other lovely coves and beaches on the way to Porto Conte.
NORTH EAST SARDINIA - In recent years, the once wild and almost deserted north east coast, home of a few fishermen with a couple of shepherds scattered here and there in the hinterland, has been transformed into one of the most desirable resort areas in the Mediterranean. The little town of Golfo Aranci has a few shops, gelaterias and pizzerias. On the south of the peninsular are numerous coves and bays with white sand and electric turquoise sea, ideal for swimming and snorkelling. There is a long beach at Pittulongu with bar and pizzeria. To the north of the peninsular is the stylish Porto Rotondo yacht marina, with a selection of designer boutiques, stylish café bars and restaurants set around the pontoons. From here the beautiful Costa Smeralda coastline leads up to Porto Cervo, dotted with coves and beaches with clear turquoise sea.
