A little information on the city you will be visiting...
Viana Do Castelo is a charming and beautiful town in Northern Portugal close to the Spanish Border. The city is blessed with rich history and architecture dating from medieval times to 20th century and has stunning beaches just outside of the town within easy reach. The serene landscape, historical lively centre and striking monuments make this small ordinary town a special one to visit. The historic center is filled with 19th-century boulevards, narrow lanes displaying some of the great examples of Manueline style manors and rococo palaces. This package is also perfect to combine it with few nights in Porto, a UNESCO city since 1996.
The city of Porto aka Oporto, built along the hillsides overlooking the mouth of the Douro river, is an outstanding urban landscape with a 2,000-year history waiting to be discovered. Its history always liked to the sea and its growth is fueled by the trade, mainly port wine, as much as that Romans called the city Portus meaning port. The historic center is dotted with varied monuments, from the cathedral with its Romanesque choir to the neoclassical Stock Exchange and the typically Portuguese Manueline-style Church of Santa Clara and it is easy to explore on foot.
