The History of Athens is one of the longest of any city in Europe and in the world. Starting our 7-nights itinerary with the leading ancient city you will easily observe both ends of Hellenic culture.

Our memorable Greek tour giving you the fantastic experience to discover the UNESCO-listed classical sites of Mycenae, Peloponnese, Olympia, Delphi, Meteora and Kalambaka; and pay a visit to Meteora to explore its spectacular rocktop monasteries. You have guided walking tours to learn about its past and visit other top sights, such as the Corinth Canal which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea.





Day 1:

Athens–Arrival

Arrival at Athens Airport. Meet and greet your assistant and be transferred to hotel in Athens city centre by an air-conditioned motor coach. Check in and dinner at hotel or nearby restaurant within walking distance. Overnight in Athens.

 

Day 2: Athens Half Day Condensed Tour

After Breakfast, meet your Licensed guide to get to know the fascinating city of Athens. You will see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896 (short stop). Pass by the Prime Minister's residence guarded by the Euzones, the Hadrian'sArch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, Schliemann’s House. On the Acropolis hill visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Parthenon. Continue and visit the place where at last the statues found their home and admire the wonders of the classical era: The new Acropolis museum. 13:30HRS Return to your hotel and rest of the day at leisure (Lunch is excluded–under client’s own arrangement) Dinner at the hotel. Day 3:

Peloponnese

After breakfast visit Peloponnese. Leave by the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea(shortstop). At Epidavros meet your Licensed English-Speaking guide and visit the Theatre of Epidauros, famous for its remarkable acoustics built 4th century B.C.

Free time for Lunch at local restaurant.

Check in and dinner at the hotel.

Overnight in Nafplion (or Porto Heli or Tolo)

Day 4:

Mycenae - Olympia

Meet your local English-Speaking Guide and visit Mycenae, the Homeric city of Atreides, the city "rich in gold" of the ancient poets to visit the Lion's Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, and the Royal Tombs etc. and visit the Archaeological Site. Free time for Lunch at local restaurant. Then proceed to the town of Nafplio through the fertile plain of Argolis, the picturesque town nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress (short photo stop). Depart for Olympia through Central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Overnight in Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games.

Day 5:

Olympia – Delphi

Departure for Olympia, meet with your local Licensed English-Speaking guide and visit of the Archaeological Site of Olympia with the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. Free Time for Lunch at local restaurant – (excluded), under client’s own arrangement. Then drive on through the plains of Eliad and Achaia until the magnificent 2,880 m suspension bridge which is crossing the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion. Pass by the picturesque towns of Nafpactos (Lepanto) and Itea. Through coast line arrive in village of Delphi, the centre of Ancient World - the "Omphalos" (Navel of Earth) - whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic World. Check-in and dinner at the hotel.

Day 6:

Kalambaka

Meet at hotel your Local Licensed English-Speaking Guide and visit the Archaeological Site of Delphi, on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios. Visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo and the Delphi Museum containing such masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias, Statue of Antinoos. Free time for Lunch at local restaurant. Depart for Kalambaka, a small town stated at the foot of the astonishing complex of Meteora’s gigantic rocks. Check-in and dinner at the hotel.

Day 7:

Meteora – Athens

Visit two nearby Byzantine monasteries built on top of rock towers and providing fantastic views over the plain. Meteora is included on the UNESCO world heritage monument. The monasteries are perched on top of towers of sandstone, which for centuries provided totally inaccessible retreats for the monks. Meteora is considered one of the most beautiful area of mainland Greece, and its monasteries are one of the country's most unique attractions. Free time for Lunch at local restaurant. Return to Athens, Arrival at hotel. Check-in and dinner at hotel or nearby restaurant within walking distance.

Day 8:

Meteora – Athens
