Florence

The capital and crowning glory of Tuscany, Florence is a hive of culture and beauty. In fact, the palaces, museums and churches that are found throughout the streets of Florence are some of the most beautiful in the world. Florence has a whole host of different sights to see, including the Boboli Gardens, the church of Santa Maria Novella, the Cathedral, the Bargello, the Ponte Vecchio, and the Pitti Palace.

With so much in one place, it is easy to see why Florence attracts such a large number of visitors each and every year. The art and architecture here is world-class, and for a small city, there is just so much to explore. Its narrow cobbled streets are filled with palazzi (palaces), medieval chapels, and striking basilicas, and its galleries are full of paintings and sculptures by Botticelli, Michelangelo and so many more.
 
Several of Italy's fashion boutiques originated here, and shopping in Florence is still a delight - you can watch goldsmiths and shoemakers at work. Finally, enjoy delicious local specialities including T-bone steak and ribollita (bean, bread and veg soup). It is a truly enchanting city, with so much to offer.
