Are you fan of James Bond? If you are then you may want to plan in a trip to Siena.  The quaint medieval streets of which were seen in the James Bond movie 'Quantum of Solace'.  It isn’t just this starring role on the silver screen that it is known for.
 
Siena is a city filled with incredible Gothic architecture. Its medieval monuments and their astounding art collections are very well-maintained, and its historic contrade (districts) are home to colourful streets featuring a wide array of beautiful restaurants, artisanal boutiques, and incredible pasticcerie (pastry shops). No trip to Siena is complete without paying these local businesses a visit.
 
Siena also boasts the world famous Palio run, which is a horse race run around the Il Campo Piazza twice every summer.  One of the best things to do is to climb the 500 steps of the Torre del Mangia, perhaps the city's most iconic landmark, which sounds like a huge challenge.  But for those who are up to it they will be rewarded with some of the most amazing sights of the entire area.
