Praiano

Very low key and secluded, ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday with a little history and culture and a great spot to explore the rest of the Amalfi Coast from. In Long Travel's opinion you can get the same experience if not better by staying out of the busy tourist areas and being here instead! There isn’t really a centre but it does have an impressive colourful dome church known as Parrocchia Di San Gennaro. Covered in majolica tiles, while the interior is enriched with terracotta tiled floor with elegant geometric designs.

Praiano also boasts some beautiful beaches where you can enjoy the sun until it sets. In Furore, famous for its fiord, each summer you can see a spectacular diving competition taking place. Furore beach only catches the sun in the early hours of the morning and, as a result, never gets too hot, even in high summer. The Furore fiord is one of the most fascinating geological features on the entire Amalfi Coast. Furores beach, easily visible from the bridge which spans the width of the fiord, is located directly opposite the old fishing village, which has now been transformed into a museum. The 25 meter long beach, was originally used as a landing stage for commercial craft.
It is from the beach of Marina di Praia that one of the Amalfi Coasts most romantic coastal walks begins, taking visitors all the way around the cliff, beneath the ancient Saracen watch tower (the Torre a Mare).

Nowadays, it attracts visitors from around the world, drawn to its crystal-clear seas that are awarded the Bandiera Blu (Blue Flag) for cleanliness, and the encompassing views It has a long reputation as a hospitable and fashionable resort, having been the favored summer residence of the powerful Doges of the Maritime Republic of Amalfi. Praiano has the feel of a village while offering the cafes, shops and restaurants of a resort.
