Know someone this property would be perfect for?
Located on a residential street popular with embassies and consulates, As Janelas Verdes is a unique boutique offering a perfect city escape within walking distance of many attractions of Lisbon. As a member of the Heritage Hotel group, it is managed with attention to detail and provides an excellent quality service and accommodation for people wanting to a nostalgic stay in an 18th century palace that was home to a famous novelist, Eҁa de Queiroz, where he wrote his best- known novel ‘The Maias’. The Ancient Art Museum is next door as well as many other local attractions within easy reach by public transport or on foot.

The small courtyard with spectacular green ivy covering the entire back wall of the building is an idyllic paradise in the heart of the city or the homely lounge with comfortable sofas and plenty of tea, coffee and juices provided free of charge all day long.

Our favourite part of this charming hotel is the Library located on the rooftop with a beautiful terrace overlooking the River Tagus. You can enjoy the library at any time of the day with complimentary tea and coffee and snacks. There is also an honesty bar where guests can help themselves with soft drinks and alcoholic beverages while enjoying the great atmosphere of this room and the outdoor terrace with a view.

This beautiful palace has been restored successfully and beautifully refurbished by one of Portugal’s well-known interior designers, Graҁa Viterbo, with period interiors, ornaments, paintings and homely features.
