Hotel San Francesco Al Monte in Naples is a historic oasis, with stunning views and such good food. We at Long Travel love “Vesuvius in moonlight and Naples from above”.
Once a 16th century monastery, Hotel San Francesco Al Monte still has the same serene atmosphere. A cool simplicity of long wide corridors, beautiful ornate decoration, pieces of modern art by the famous Robert Rauschenberg, and traditional Italian furnishings, are blended with taste and real style.
San Francesco Al Monte’s rooms all have sea-views and have been converted from the ancient monk’s cells. The bar is cosy and comfortable. During the long, warm Neapolitan summers, the fourth-floor terraces, with their spectacular views, are home to the restaurant, where dinner and breakfast are served. During cooler months, the huge expanse of glass make it seem as if diners are still al fresco. The light and inventive cuisine, with the emphasis on supremely fresh ingredients, is appetising, delicious and really quite special. The attentive service and relaxed atmosphere make it the perfect place to relax and we love it here at Long Travel.
The seventh-floor roof garden, with its elegantly furnished terrace, has the most spectacular views of all. Here, a delightful swimming pool flows into a small cave with a cascade. Relax, away from the hustle and bustle, enjoying one of the most breath-taking views in the world over Naples.
