Castel Monastero is a romantic and luxurious hotel in Castelnuovo Berardenga, Tuscany

Castel Monastery, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, was a monastery in the eleventh century hence the name. Over the centuries it was converted into a castle, then a country house and, finally, a borgo. Today the Castelo Monastero hotel, carefully renovated, is protected by the ancient walls and consists of several buildings. The three layered outdoor pools are surrounded by a large solarium with sun loungers and parasols for some relaxing sunbathing.

The Spa of Castel Monastero, housed in two farmhouses, a few meters from the main borgo, is the ideal place to enjoy moments of pure relaxation, with a bio sauna, experience showers, a Turkish bath, a heated pool, a Jacuzzi and a herbal tea area. The perfect place to sink away for a romantic break.

Two gourmet restaurants are located within the Castel Monastero hotel. The menus were written by award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay. “Contrada” restaurant, overlooks the main square, with two dining rooms and offers an à la carte menu with traditional Tuscan recipes reinterpreted with a modern Mediterranean twist. “La Cantina” restaurant, open every day for lunch and dinner, is located in the medieval cellars of Castel Monastero and serves regional specialties such as pappa al pomodoro and Chianina meat. The wine list at the Castel Monastero includes both local and national labels. Guests can also attend (not included in the price) cooking classes designed by chef Gordon Ramsay and resident chef, Stylianos Sakalis.

An indoor tennis court is located within the resort and the 18-hole golf course of “Golf Club Ugolino”, can be reached in an hour by car, also available for sports lovers staying at the Castel Monastery.
