Peace and quiet with style - Trullo Tramontana is very different. Paul loves the spacious stylish interior. Laura loves the fabulous, off the beaten track, very private location and views over vineyards & pretty countryside.
Approximately 4km from Cisternino, Trullo Tramontana is approached down a long track, past another trullo, and is in a delightful and private, rural location, with lovely views over open countryside. The owners are from Verona, and they have an eye for décor and good taste, so their trullo has an interesting blend of traditional trullo, modern simplicity and contemporary style. The integrity of the local vernacular architecture has been maintained in the structure, with original, rustic cones and newly-built "lamie ". The modern twist comes inside, with an intriguing choice of materials and stylish furnishings.
At the front of the trullo, there is a charming patio area and, as an extra bonus, in an elevated spot in the grounds, there is a walled terrace, with a large stone table and stone seating, for al fresco dining. The built-in barbecue is a triumph and a real temptation to "cook at home ".
Tom & Yumiko, from Sevenoaks, enjoyed "the quietness and privacy of the location and the lovely views. " They tell us that they loved shopping in Cisternino for meat and fresh seafood, going back to Trullo Tramontana to barbecue, and relaxing whilst enjoying a glass (or two!) of local wine. Heaven!
Note that there is an open stone staircase, at the side of Trullo Tramontana and some stones in the wall, which lead to a flat roof, at the back - traditional and attractive features, but giving access to the roof. Therefore, a possible hazard for very small or disobedient children (or over-adventurous adults!).
