A gem of a trullo in a slice of paradise. Michael loves the fantastic rural location and the quality. Francesco & Madia have put their heart and soul into the trullo, the pool, the garden – everything, in fact.
Approximately 4km from Cisternino, the garden and pool of Trullo Madia overlook a lovely valley – a wooded landscape with glimpses of trulli cones, in the distance. In an elevated position, the detached trullo is private and tranquil. The pool “with a view” seems to be almost an infinity pool, on the edge of the garden, and with a beautiful vista. Surrounded by extensive lawned terraces and an absolutely delightful Mediterranean garden, with lavender, petunias, olive and pomegranate trees, it really seems like a slice of paradise. The outside covered gazebo, with a built-in barbecue, table and chairs, as well as a large sink, is perfect for relaxing al fresco.
Francesco is a stonemason and builder, completely besotted with stone. Huge chunks of local limestone adorn the garden terraces. The trullo itself is a masterpiece of exposed stone and, even the light fittings have been lovingly made by him - out of stone of course! Inside and out, the two-bedroomed Trullo Madia has retained a traditional charm, but also has good comfortable, modern standards, with some attractive Italian personal touches. The compact live-in kitchen is in a trullo cone and has a single run of kitchen units, with sink and hob, and a dining table and chairs, as well as a fireplace with a wood-burning stove, and built-in seating with cushions. The kitchen leads onto an absolutely charming colonnaded, covered terrace, which is yet another area for eating outside. A corridor leads off the kitchen to one double bedroom, one double/twin room, the shower room, and small utility room with a washing machine. Both bedrooms and even the shower room have stone barrel vaulted ceilings.
Trullo Madia is great for a couple, two couples or for a family.

"This was our first holiday with Long Travel but not our last. Trullo Madia is a little paradise, we had glorious sunshine all week and clear blue skies" Paul & Susan, Carsington
Sean Newsom of the Sunday Times says in his sneak preview of 50 Sensational Villas.." Cool, compact and full of character, trulli are immediately recognisable thanks to their witch's-hat roofs. This one is newly restored and, unusually, has a pool."
“What a great trullo! We love the attention to detail and really enjoyed our stay in such a unique property. The pool is beautiful and I must say, we spent most of the time around it in the day, just chilling! A real treat!” Simon & Kathryn, Matlock
