Ray & Annie love this trullo, which so reflects the owners - one passionate about her garden, the other passionate about his cooking. Helen loves the superbly well-equipped kitchen and sitting on the terrace, the scent of lavender lingering in the air - and those views - wow!
3km from Cisternino, down quiet country lanes, this detached trullo is in an elevated position, with superb views over olive and fruit trees, to the town. On the edge of a very small hamlet, and very private, Trullo Del Pino is in a lovely, rural location - an absolutely spectacular and idyllic spot.
The owners, great friends of Ray and Annie, use the trullo out of season, so it is more of a home than holiday accommodation. They love colour and the trullo, uniquely and tastefully furnished, feels cosy and welcoming, with delightful personal touches. They have put their hearts into its high standard, using the best local craftsmen, and with stone floors and exposed stone walls, it is full of character.
A 25m path meanders through the lavender to another detached and very private trullo, which provides extra accommodation and can only be rented with the main trullo. An original cone, this charming double bedroom, with en-suite shower room, has unhindered views towards Cisternino, from its own terrace - perfect for teenagers, grandparents, or a romantic couple.
One owner is a great cook and it is obvious that cooking and dining are focal points of Trullo Del Pino. The other owner devotes herself to her passion for gardening. What a garden - in parts, it is quite English, with lavender borders, but also Mediterranean, with an array of plants and, usually, lots of colour. From the lovely terrace, with built-in barbecue, there are breathtaking views. Some of Ray & Annie's most precious memories are of evenings, on the terrace, enjoying local red wine, eating some very special food (sorry - we can't convince the chef to stay for you!) and watching the lights glittering, in the distance. That's the life!
