With what must be one of the best locations near Amalfi, just a 10 minute walk, or a short ride in the hotel's shuttle, from the centre, the Miramalfi is ideally located, for those with or without a car.
With panoramic views of Amalfi, the hotel perches on a cliff top, towering above the sea. It has a modern elegance, which is enhanced by its beautiful, panoramic views, in almost every direction. The Miramalfi is constantly being improved and updated and gets better every time we visit.
The dining room has been decorated in cool blues and sunny yellows, giving that fresh Mediterranean feel. The whole room is light and airy, with masses of glass and a terrace, to take full advantage of the views. Dinner and breakfast are served here, and on the terrace in summer months (usually June to September). The cuisine is generally inventive and interesting, and is usually good value for money.
Mediterranean colours, pale greens and turquoises of traditional Vietri tiles, and stylish furnishings also give the Miramalfi's bedrooms a bright and airy feel. We particularly like the lovely superior rooms.
The Miramalfi's swimming pool has been sculpted into the rocks to cleverly match the shape of the cliff above it! Reached by stairs or a lift carved into the cliff face, the bathing area is surrounded by ornamental tropical woody vines and decking covers the rocks, providing a platform for sun beds, deckchairs and umbrellas. Bathing platforms, way below, give access to the sea and spectacular sunbathing spots.
Le Onde Restaurant, on a terrace above the pool, serves cocktails and soft drinks during the day and great lunches in the summer - seafood, grilled meat and fish, snacks and traditional Neapolian thick-crusted pizzas, baked in a wood oven, will tempt any taste buds.
Ultra-modern, with a fascinating use of copper and other metals, and silver, black and white décor, it has a theme of waves, gently undulating, and it is very designer, very chic. The open barbecue and kitchen areas are really impressive. The views of Amalfi are stunning. It has a real "wow " factor. What a place for a party! It is a popular choice for weddings and celebrations, and, sometimes, in the summer, for special dinners for Miramalfi guests.
We must also mention the Miramalfi's charming barman (and sometimes receptionist), Alfonso, who is a cheery, friendly face and always does his best for guests - he smiles constantly! In fact, the hotel has been run by the Mansi family for over 50 years and they set great store by customer service, so all of the staff are attentive and welcoming.
Hotel Miramalfi really is in a beautiful spot and is a lovely hotel. It's a great favourite with us all.
