Masseria and Country Estates
in Southern Italy
|
 |
|
|
For
many people, a stay in a ‘masseria' or on a country estate
is the perfect holiday. Great Italian food, a wonderful
location and generally with a far more laid-back approach
to holidays than a traditional hotel.
There
are so many to choose from, Tenuta Seliano, south of the
Amalfi Coast in Campania where you can eat wonderful fresh
mozzarella, produced daily by the herd of water buffalo,
owned by the Baratta family. Masseria Marzalossa, a
17th century fortified farmhouse, in the heart of the Pugliese
countryside, surrounded by hectares of ancient olive trees,
but only a few minutes' drive from beautiful towns and the
Adriatic coast and some lovely stretches of sandy beach.
Alternatively,
why not stay at I Fratelli, a country estate in the rolling
hills of central Sicily? Or if you are after a luxury holiday,
going on your honeymoon, or celebrating a special occasion,
treat yourself to a few days at the sublime five-star luxury
Masseria San Domenico, which will provide you with impeccable
service, state of the art spa facilities and is only a few
minutes' from some of Puglia's most characterful towns.
Luxury, farm stay, large, small, rustic or boutique - a
masseria holiday is an experience not to be missed.
They
all offer something a little different, something special
– a holiday to remember.
