Masseria and Country Estates |

|
For many people, a stay
at a ‘masseria' or on a country estate is the perfect place
to be. Great home produced food, wonderful location and
quite different from a traditional hotel.
There
are so many to choose from, La Masseria hidden away in the
north-west corner of Sicily, with lovely views, close to
the Ficuzza Wood, which is all that remains of a 12,000
hectare forest originally used for deer hunting by Ferdinand
III de Borbon. Or Tenuta Seliano in South Campania where
you can eat wonderful fresh mozzarella, produced daily by
the heard of water buffalo, owned by the Baratta family.
Alternatively, why not stay at Masseria Marzalossa, a 17th
century fortified farmhouse, seemingly in the heart of the
Pugliese countryside, surrounded by hectares of ancient
olive trees, but only a few minutes drive from the coast
and some lovely stretches of sandy beach.
They
all offer something a little different, something special
– a holiday to remember.
