Southern
Italy has some of the most stunning countryside you can
find anywhere in the world. Beautiful lakes, soaring mountains
that are snow-capped for much of the year. The amazing landscape
is relatively unknown to many who visit the South of Italy,
Sicily and Sardinia.
We
have a variety of accommodation, which allows you to take
full advantage of these wonderful sights. The self–catering
apartments at Il Vecchio Borgo are not only close to Rome,
but they are just a short distance from Lake Bracciano and
the Gran Sasso Mountains of Abruzzo. Lake Avernus, just
North of the Amalfi Coast, is a volcanic crater-lake, which
was of major importance to the Romans who considered it
to be the entrance to Hades.
Hotel
Su Gologone, famed throughout Sardinia for its wonderful
food, is backed by Mount Corrasi, the highest summit of
the Sopramonte mountain range. The views are stunning and
in sheltered gullies below the summit you will find bushes
of wild peonies, St Pankratius Lilies and Cyclamen .
Villa
Tommaso is unique, a converted castle on the edge of the
Madonie Mountains, the highest point in Sicily after Mount
Etna, where, if you are really lucky you may see eagles
and hawks soaring overhead. La Maiella sits close to the
foot of the mighty Gran Sasso mountain range in Abruzzo,
where you can enjoy views of the snow-capped mountains for
many months of the year.
Or
for something a little different, stay at Villa Sonia in
Sicily, perched high above the coast in Castelmola di Taormina
with uninterrupted views of the magnificent Mount Etna.
What could be better than, after a long day out, heading
back to sit on your terrace to watch the sun set over the
countryside where, only an hour or so earlier, you were
walking.
