Horse Riding in Southern Italy,
Sicily & Sardinia
|

 |
Italy
is the ideal place for horse riding and trekking.
Beautiful countryside and great weather. Why not take advantage
of this and stay at one of our selected hotels or self-catering
properties who can organise horse riding and trekking? Whether
you are experienced or not, we can organise guided and unguided
riding for all abilities.
For
experienced riders, a stay at La Fattoria in one of Italy's
lesser known regions, South Campania is wonderful. Spend
your days trekking through the magnificent scenery of the
Cilento National Park. Take the trail known as "the
road of brigands and peasants" where you can catch
glimpses of the Tyrrhenian Sea through the ancient olive
groves, as you make your way to Celso, one of the many characterful
hilltop villages in this area of Italy. Or, ride "the
ridge of the gods" from which you can see both the
Gulf of Ascea and the Gulf of Casal Velino, then descend
through the National Park of Cilento to Lake Petrosa.
Alternatively,
spend some time at Due Palme on the edge of the Umbra Forest
on the Gargano Peninsula in the north of Puglia. Or, if
one of the islands takes your fancy, Sicily has some breathtaking
scenery, and some amazing trekking. Stay at I Fratelli or
Villa Pina, both in the heart of Sicily, they are agritourist
estates, which in addition to all the services, comforts,
and of course the good food and wine, you would expect,
offer horse-riding and organised trekking.
Sardinia
also has a history of horse riding and trekking and many
of the properties we work with, which are close to the Costa
Smeralda can organise trekking and days out riding. If you
want to discuss your requirements please contact us for
further details and prices.
