Travelling to, and around Southern Italy without a car

Not everyone wants to spend their holiday driving, but sometimes it can be difficult to take a holiday without a car. Over the past few years we have been organising more and more holidays to Italy, Sicily and Sardinia for people who would prefer to travel without a car. We can organise travel from the U.K. by train and once you arrive at your holiday destination it is very easy to travel around using local trains, buses and the local water taxi and ferry services.

We have a good selection of properties in Southern Italy, which are easily accessible without the need for a car. You don't need to limit yourself to the traditionally easy to access destinations, such as Rome, Taormina in Sicily or Alghero in Sardinia. It is possible to travel to most destinations throughout the south of Italy, it just takes a bit more organisation.

One favourite is the Hotel Miramalfi on the Amalfi coast, where you can spend your days relaxing by the pool and in the evening take a short passeggiata into Amalfi for a bit of people watching, and an aperitivo in Piazza Duomo. If you want to see the sights you can easily get around using public transport. The buses run frequently and the water taxis are a great way to see the sights of the Amalfi Coast.

Or visit Lipari where you are within easy walking distance of the main harbour. From here you can get around using the ferry and take boat trips out to the volcanic island of Stromboli, the beautiful island of Panarea, which is covered in lush vegetation, or one of the other islands which make up the archipelago - definitely no need for a car here!
