Costa Azzurra is a family friendly beach hotel with a self-catering cottage near Tropea, Calabria. Close to white sand & turquoise sea, Costa Azzurra’s rooms & cottage feel as though they are in a tropical paradise.

If you love family-run places, in panoramic locations, close to beautiful beaches and with lovely, well-tended gardens and an inviting pool, Hotel Costa Azzurra and cottage are for you.

Only about 12km south of Tropea, on the famous Capo Vaticano, you will be spoiled for white sand and crystal, turquoise sea whiles staying with Long Travel at the Hotel Costa Azzurra. Less than 1km from the beach, down a good, but very steep road, you can walk, or take the free minibus transfer from the Hotel Costa Azzurra. Only a short walk from the railway station, it is ideal if you do not want to hire a car, especially in high season, when it is also easier to access excursions in and around Capo Vaticano and Tropea. There are also lots of little beaches to explore under your own steam, and you can take boat trips around the coast of Calabria. Venturing even further, there are trips to Reggio Calabria, to see the famous Riace Bronzes, and even Stromboli, to watch its volcanic activity.

With the sea as your backdrop as you sunbathe by the pool of the beach hotel Costa Azzurra, or sip your drinks at the poolside bar. You can enjoy great music at the piano-bar during evenings in the summertime, and on Wednesday’s you can expect barbecue evenings which are a huge hit with past clients of Long Travel who have stayed at the hotel Costa Azzurra. An excellent buffet and lively traditional music, sitting under the stars, make for a very fun evening for the whole family to enjoy.

At Long Travel, we really love the family-run atmosphere of the Hotel Costa Azzurra, the great location and the delicious and wholesome Calabrian food. Breakfasts are quite simple, but dinner is always a treat of flavours and home-made goodies. The chef usually makes fresh bread and fresh pasta every day. The rooms and cottages may be simple and functional, but the setting and gardens are like a tropical paradise. The beautiful beaches are another bonus of staying at the Hotel Costa Azzurra and is the perfect base for a family getaway.

The Hotel Costa Azzurra represents really good value for money and, as there is enough within walking distance to keep you and your little ones amused if you’re not inclined to venture too far – little bars, an ice cream parlour, eateries and the railway station for trips further a field.

“We have just returned from Calabria. The pool and gardens at Costa Azzurra were really lovely. The scenery in this area is beautiful with the most wonderful white sandy beaches. A thoroughly enjoyable week. ” Joyce, St Albans

Jane Hayward wrote for Woman & Home magazine, “….a lovely, family-run village hotel. You’ll eat, drink and sunbathe to a turquoise Capo Vaticano backdrop. It’s effortless la dolce vita! Paradisical gardens wrapped around an inviting pool are the hotel’s USP, and its simple, spotless rooms are a comfortable base.”

“We found your brochure’s information matched the facilities we found. The Costa Azzurra, Capo Vaticano was absolutely lovely with a wonderful family atmosphere and very interesting food. Use their offer to the Aeolian Islands – that was absolutely fantastic. ” Linda, Knaresborough

Bettina Rix wrote for Families Upon Thames Magazine, that Costa Azzurra is “..set in flower-filled gardens, in the Capo Vaticano area. An inviting pool and friendly café-bar completed the picture, with a trio of gorgeous sandy beaches just a 15 minute walk away… “

“The pool is one of the best we’ve had and the spectacular garden lived up to expectations and was truly stunning. We loved the fantastic fish course every day – amazing value & a must for fish lovers.” Penny, London
