Casa Turchetti is small and exclusive, as bijou and boutique as they come. In the heart of Taormina, just off the main “Corso Umberto”, it is right in the thick of things, yet in a relatively peaceful spot. Approached through the typical, narrow streets and stepped alleyways, it is elevated above the main “Belvedere” square and the hustle and bustle of the street. From its rooftop terrace, the occasional sound of Sicilian music floats up from the town, and views, over rooftops, to the sea, and the majestic Mount Etna, which looms large, create a magical and romantic atmosphere. This is a special place – arguably the prettiest hotel in Taormina.
Originally an eighteenth century convent, but later a famous music school, rooms are named after musical instruments, and the great Maestro Turchetti. Pino and Francesca have restored it with no expense spared. Every detail, from the specially made bed linen and curtains, to the decorative ceramics and antique Sicilian furniture, combines to give Casa Turchetti an exceptional quality and unique atmosphere. Each bedroom is elegant and comfortable, with warm colours and fabrics and lovely, marble shower rooms with slippers and fluffy, white bathrobes and facilities one would expect of a multi-starred hotel.
The small second floor breakfast room leads to the beautiful, large roof terrace, furnished with dining chairs, tables, sun beds and umbrellas, and even an outside shower! From here, guests have one of the best views in Taormina - over rooftops to the sea, and the magical Mount Etna. Casa Turchetti’s abundant and delicious breakfast is usually served here, and it is the real highlight for the start of any day. Francesca’s passion for home cooking and typical Sicilian pastries and delicacies soon becomes obvious. She lays before her guests a truly irresistible array of goodies – all of the best things that Sicily has to offer for breakfast. Diet before you go, because you’ll surely need to when you get home – Francesca will make sure of it!
Casa Turchetti’s lovely terrace is also the all-important spot for a sunbathe, or a drink before, (and after!) dinner. Taormina boasts some of Sicily’s best restaurants, so there are plenty to choose from, “on the doorstep”.

TAORMINA
In a stunning location, hundreds of feet above the sparkling blue sea, Mount Etna dominating the backdrop, Taormina is a place to sit and absorb the atmosphere, a good excuse to dress up, have a typical Italian passeggiata and do some classy shopping - all the ingredients of a perfect holiday destination. With its Greco-Roman theatre and mediaeval centre, it attracts a truly cosmopolitan mix - fascinating, sophisticated, fashionable and chic. Internationally famous for its film festival and concerts, you could easily be rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous. A short cable ride to the beaches of Mazzaro to soak up the sun, then finish the day in one of the many excellent eating places for some delicious Sicilian food and wine. Taormina is also a good base for exploring Sicily, with a hire car, or with daily-organised tours. Local transport is good, too.

The junior suite is larger than the superiors, with a four-poster bed.
The luxury suite is spacious, with a sitting room and a double en-suite bedroom on the ground floor – spiral steps lead to another double en-suite, on a mezzanine.
